USU Irrigation Engineering Photograph Collection. 1950-1995

The USU Irrigation Engineering Photograph Collection consists of 2,808 color slides, black and white negatives, and black and white photographs from projects and studies relating to irrigation but also a variety of water issues such as cloud seeding, ice encasement, salinity, water conservation, and drought studies. Most of the images are from Cache Valley but there are also images from throughout Utah. Also included are images of dams and irrigation projects in Montana, New Mexico, Idaho, and Arizona as well as images from Canada, Brazil, and El Salvador. These images were taken by several irrigation and agricultural engineering professors including Lyman Willardson, Robert Hill, Jack Keller, Don Griffin, Bob Hagans, Bud Delay and Dean Peterson.

In 1914 USU created a new school, called the School of Agricultural Engineering. It stayed that way until after WWII when they began teaching other branches of engineering. By 1947, the Schools had divided into departments, among which was the Department of Agricultural and Irrigation Engineering.
